Spread across an area of over 1,227 hectare, with 80 operating airlines, Heathrow airport is undoubtedly among the busiest airports in the world. Passenger movement to this airport is mainly from New York, Dubai, Dublin, Hong Kong and Frankfurt. The airport is situated approximately 14 miles west from Central London and is currently a combination of 4 operational terminals and 2 runways. Heathrow Airport Holdings handles the operation of this hub.
The M4 motorway provides convenient and time saving access to terminals 2 and 3, while terminals 4 and 5 can be accessed by the M25 motorway. Transport links to Central London are available from almost all terminals, with the majority of passengers opting for public transport. Heathrow Express operates transfers to Paddington and surrounding areas from terminals 3 and 5 and does not directly commence from terminal 4. The Piccadilly line of the London Underground operates from all terminals to connect major areas of Central London.
Not all the terminals of the airport have direct access to public transport services. Hence journeys with heavy baggage might become challenging. The majority of available public transport systems are not friendly to larger groups especially in case of added luggage numbers.
Opting for private hire taxis come with the benefit of door step pickup and drop off, avoiding luggage mishandling and much more. 4 and 8 seater minicabs from Heathrow airport offer convenient pick up from all the airport terminals and drop you to your desired location. The service also includes free flight monitoring and suitable rescheduling of the journey to bring down additional waiting time charges.
